African Soccer Fans Connect with Calendar
The 31st Total Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2017) kicks off this week (14th January), with Africa’s best 24 nations taking football’s centre stage for the three-week tournament.
The biggest sporting event in Africa chose ECAL to provide fans with a handy, personalised ‘digital calendar’ service, designed to keep fans up-to-date with the match schedule, and engaged throughout.
We have produced both French & English language displays including our ‘Add to Calendar’ button & event display widgets. Fans can choose the complete AFCON Match Schedule or schedules of their favourite teams, and have these dynamically synced to their personal calendar program on mobile or desktop.
Working in partnership with leading global agency Lagardere Sports and Entertainment, the AFCON 2017 ‘Add to Calendar’ feature is being promoted with creative posts on Facebook and Twitter, as well as via the official tournament website.
Ivory Coast enter the tournament as defending champions and favourites to claim its second successive title. The 2017 African champion will qualify for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.
