Premier League, the world's most popular football league, has launched the Premier League Digital Calendar, a highly advanced global calendar marketing feature powered by ECAL.
Watched by an estimated 4.7 billion people annually, Premier League wanted a state-of-the-art digital calendar solution that could serve their global audience, and connect to help fans 'Experience It Live'.
The Premier League Digital Calendar solution boasts a wealth of innovative features, supporting a highly integrated global digital strategy. Geo-detection serves to tailor the experience for fans, who will receive regional TV broadcast information for Premier League games in their calendar. Game entries also include custom ticketing links, official game hashtags and direct links to the Match Centre.
A leading corporate entity, the Premier League also require displays that meet stringent AA Accessibility standards, under / over age 13 compliance and data storage requirements.
Additional features include smart business logic to identify user preferences, sync data to CRM and a user conversion model to support the Premier League's free online membership.
The new Premier League Digital Calendar was launched with the official season 2016/17 fixture release, via a range of news articles and social media. The feature has since been added to the Premier League's brilliant new website with access via the 'Add Fixtures to Calendar' button, and the feature will be added to all official mobile apps.
The initial response has been enormous, with around 50,000 subscriptions in just the first 24 hours of release. The multi-year partnership is hugely exciting for us at ECAL, and another example of major business committed to the benefits of building a connected calendar audience.
