ECAL Launches SMS Response

We have officially launched our new 'SMS Response' feature with National Basketball League team, Melbourne United, the first to use it. With over 5,000 people packed in to Hisense Arena last Friday night, Melbourne United promoted their 'United Fan Calendar' on their digital scoreboard display, backed by a PA announcement to fans.

The ECAL 'SMS Response' uses a unique 'keyword', that fans text to receive the ECAL link directly to their mobile device. Fans can simply tap the link to choose their favourite Melbourne United content, and then sync this straight to their mobile calendar, so they stay connected up-to-date. Melbourne United fans were asked to text the keyword 'United' to ECAL's SMS number 0457 222 000.

The results from the night included hundreds of subscriptions to the Melbourne United ECAL, with over 80% of fans who received the text proceeding with the subscription. This new functionality provides publishers with the opportunity to promote their ECAL more widely - at live events, and via other communications such as event programs, press ads, outdoor and printed collateral.
