What a fantastic day at the Google Cloud Summit in Sydney, as ECAL Founder & CEO, Patrick Barrett, joined the ‘Transformation Insights’ panel and sharing the stage with leaders from other scaling technology companies in Abyss Solutions Ltd and meldCX.
It was great opportunity to share the ECAL story – from origination, to our journey as a start-up to scale-up, and to discuss the reasons for a strategic shift to partner with Google Cloud (GCP).
From what began as a need to meet future data sovereignty laws, deliver cost optimisation, and to future-proof the technology for next-level global scale, has moved far beyond this to a strategic product and business partnership – with a shared plan for a bold 10x growth vision for the future.
These are exciting times for ECAL, as we embrace the strong and rising global demand for our service, and build for future technical, privacy and security needs as we see it. We’re also always wanting to stay ahead of the curve. Continuous innovation lives in the heart of the ECAL company, and the opportunities available with AI and the superior array of integrated products and tooling available to us at Google, will bring next-level personalisation, marketing capabilities and data insights to the platform.
Beyond the panel discussion, key takeaways from the day were the recurring themes of:

- The necessity of a relentless commitment to innovation.
- The value of building strong, strategic partnerships.
- The role of AI in delivering smart, simple business efficiencies, fast.
The energy around Agentic AI is certainly profound. It is clear companies and product leaders are eager to move beyond the hype and see it in action. The big questions were: How can we get quick business wins? And where do we practically start?
What was clear from the Summit is that Google is focused on making their advanced AI tooling as accessible and as easy as possible. The timing couldn’t be better, with Google Agentspace just becoming publicly available, and for many businesses, this seems like a great place to start.
